The AIFC Academy of Law Kazakhstan under Astana International Financial Center invited Dr. Ammar Younas, a renowned technology law expert, to lead an engaging webinar titled “Legal Progression of Technology Law in Central Asia” on June 19, 2020.
In his session, Dr. Younas delved into the integration of technology within Central Asian economies and societies, stressing the urgency for safer, fairer, and more inclusive autonomous systems. He highlighted the critical role of governance and regulatory policies in steering the adoption of emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), while addressing transboundary policy challenges and ethical considerations.
The webinar underscored the transformative potential of autonomous and intelligent systems (A/IS) across sectors like commerce, healthcare, education, and public safety. Dr. Younas urged the development of socially beneficial applications and introduced the concept of Central Asia Tech Law (CAT Law). He advocated for the creation of a Generalized AI Policy for Central Asia to ensure sustainable and ethical technological advancement.
